Important CRA Due Dates - 2025 Tax Returns
CRA won't remind you but you are responsible yourself
Important Due Dates for 2025 Tax Returns which all Canadians should abide by.
Personal Income Tax
Personal income tax returns, except for those of individuals with self-employment income, are normally due by April 30, 2026 as is any amount owing.
For individuals with self-employed income, the due date is June 15, 2026. Any tax balance owing, however, is still due April 30, 2026.
The final date for your RRSP contributions to be eligible for the 2025 tax year is March 1, 2026. Refer to your Notice of Assessment (NOA) or access CRA My Account information on the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) website for your total RRSP contribution limit for the 2025 tax year.
Corporate Income Tax
Dividend distribution filings T5 and T5 Summaries must be reported within 2 months of your year end. For December 31st year-ends the deadline is February 28, 2026.
Payroll T4 and T4 Summaries must be filed by February 28th, regardless of corporate year-end.
Payroll remittances are due on 15th of the following month.
Annual payroll remittance is due on January 15, 2026.
Corporate tax remittances are due 3 months after a corporation’s year end. For December 31, 2025 year end, the deadline is March 31, 2026.
HST return is due 3 months after a fiscal year end for annul returns, Quarterly return are due 1 month after the filing period.
In order to avoid interest and penalties, and to give me ample time to prepare and finalize the work, please send in the following information:
- Bank Statements (corporate and personal) with canceled cheques;
- All sales invoices;
- All expense receipts (including home expenses such as hydro bills, mortgage statements, and property taxes);
- All credit card statements (corporate and personal)
